Deanna Cooney
Deanna Cooney is a 25+ year veteran of the acting and voiceover world and an online educator, and teaches voice and presenting to camera at WAAPA. She is based in Perth, Western Australia.
Deanna delivers world-class training to students across the globe. She specialises in teaching practical voiceover skills, particularly around interpretation and authentic, engaged delivery of voiceover copy.
An in-demand commercial and narrative voice talent, she is represented by Moore Creative Artists and Big Mouth Voices. Over the years, she has been the voice of thousands of national and local campaigns for a wide variety of Australian brands and businesses, including Red Rooster, HBF, Caltex, Chemist Warehouse and Car Sales.
Deanna’s versatility also sees her regularly voicing online commercial and corporate videos as well as narrating documentaries, with credits including Flying Miners for the ABC, KEO Films Australia’s critically acclaimed SBS documentary Struggle Street, and SBS mini-series Breadline.
As a working talent and coach, Deanna has great insight into the modern Australian voiceover landscape. She is a passionate advocate for other artists and the development of the industry.
