Every Voice Matters

Svara Project supports vocal athletes through education, access to health care, advoacy and connection. Our initiatives create an empowering network that unites and supports singers, actors, and voice actors throughout their journey.

Who We Are

Expanding Access. Protecting Voices. Empowering Communities.

Expanding equitable access to vocal health education, preventive care, and opportunity through free educational programs, vocal health screenings, scholarships, and community partnerships.

Every person deserves the opportunity to use their voice with confidence, health, and freedom. Yet access to specialized vocal health education and care remains out of reach for many students, educators, performers, and emerging artists. Talent and passion are not determined by income or geography, but too often opportunity is.

For those who are uninsured, underinsured, or without access to specialized care, preventable vocal injuries can derail years of dedication and limit lifelong opportunities. By expanding access to education and early intervention, we help people protect their most valuable instrument—their voice.

Music and the human voice are among our oldest and most powerful forms of expression. They allow us to tell stories, preserve culture, build community, inspire change, and connect across every language and border. When people have the opportunity to develop and care for their voices, they enrich not only their own lives but the communities around them.

The Svara Project exists to remove barriers to vocal health education and care so that every voice has the opportunity to learn, grow, connect, and be heard.

The Svara Project was founded in 2020 by Dr. Reena Gupta (laryngologist) and Mindy Pack (vocal coach) to provide voice users with educational growth, professional development, community and connection.

When the pandemic hit, they dove into this purpose and created the first online vocal educational event, with attendees from over 20 countries worldwide. They accessed their network of engaged, passionate educators who had been their fellow teachers, conference attendees, and engaged followers over 10 years of conference creation. It became clear that access to vocal health resources, high-level education, and empowering networks are far from universal.

Svara Project was re-imagined as a non profit organization that:

  • Creates vocal health and injury prevention educational programs for underserved and underfunded communities

  • Hosts vocal health screening events to provide access to high-quality vocal healthcare

  • Scholarships and subsidized access to professional development programming

  • Advocacy for artist safety and mental health

  • Charitable partnerships

  • Connects the world of voice professionals
